Roosh Sindhu: From a Childhood Dream to Miss India International 2025
At the age of four, Roosh Sindhu stepped onto a stage for a children’s beauty competition and won. That early moment stayed with her. It led her towards modelling, pageantry and a dream she carried for years before returning to it.
Crowned Miss India International 2025 in Jaipur on 18 August 2025, Roosh Sindhu has a story of ambition, resilience and courage. For her, beauty goes well beyond appearance. It lies in kindness, integrity and how a person behaves when nobody is watching.
I met Roosh in Jaipur on 23 August at the Miss Universe India 2026 event at Zee Studio Jaipur. Here is her story, in her own words and perspective.
The Woman Behind the Crown
Roosh’s identity rests on a simple belief: kindness matters because everyone is fighting a battle others cannot see. Sometimes a person does not need advice or judgement, only comfort.
Much of this outlook comes from her father, who taught her two lessons: be honest and loyal, and give your whole heart to whatever you choose to do. These values shape her ambitions, relationships and career.
A Childhood Dream That Never Disappeared
Roosh’s mother enrolled her in a city-based children’s beauty competition when she was four. Winning it awakened something in her, and she began telling her family she would one day become an actress.
Later, pressure from a conservative environment pushed her away from that dream. She built a career as a marketing manager instead. During that time, a mentor at work saw her potential and encouraged her to aim higher. His belief helped her realise she had not outgrown her dream. She had only stepped away from it.
That encouragement gave her the motivation to try again.
The Road to Miss India International 2025
Winning Miss India International 2025 in Jaipur on 18 August 2025 was more than a competition result. It was proof of what can happen when a long-held dream gets a second chance. Roosh describes it as aiming for the stars and landing on the moon.
The title also gave her the honour of representing India at the international competition in Japan, turning a personal milestone into a national responsibility.
The Work Behind the Glamour
A confident walk or a poised answer lasts only moments on stage, but preparing for it takes months. Roosh studied question-and-answer techniques online and worked on dance, ramp walking and many photoshoots to build her confidence.
She says the hardest part was not learning individual skills. It was staying mentally strong through the whole process. Talent may open the door, but consistency and discipline keep a person going when progress slows.
Finding Strength Through Adversity
The journey was not always smooth. Roosh faced a difficult experience during the competition and had to deal with it largely on her own. She chose not to let it define her time there and kept moving towards her goal.
The lesson she took from it was that resilience does not mean never feeling vulnerable. It means finding a way to continue despite it.
Beyond the Crown: Writing and Mental Health Awareness
Roosh’s ambitions extend beyond modelling and pageantry. She is an author and runs her own non-profit organisation, through which she has worked on mental health awareness on the ground. She says this has included free psychological screening using tools such as the GAD-7.
When asked what she wanted judges to understand about her, her answer was simple: she wanted to be herself. Her writing and her mental health work, she says, are as much a part of her identity as the stage.
Rethinking Beauty: Kindness Over Appearance
For Roosh Sindhu, beauty begins on the inside. She believes genuine kindness creates a warmth that shows in a person’s face and presence, something appearance alone cannot replace.
Her definition of beauty is built on a clear conscience, good treatment of others, and never advancing by hurting someone else. Beautiful thoughts, she says, should be matched by beautiful actions.
This challenges the narrow idea of beauty often associated with the fashion and pageant industries. Her confidence comes from knowing that her choices reflect her values, not from applause or approval.
Staying True to Herself in the Public Eye
Visibility brings scrutiny and criticism. Roosh stays grounded by asking whether she has been honest with herself about her methods and intentions. She accepts that people will not always agree with her. What matters most is whether her actions stay true to her principles.
Lessons in Trust and Self-Reliance
One of Roosh’s biggest lessons has been learning to rely on herself. Experience has taught her that relationships can change and promises do not always turn into lasting support. Today she places greater emphasis on independent effort and personal responsibility.
For her, self-reliance does not mean refusing support. It means having the confidence to make decisions, face uncertainty and keep working towards a goal when circumstances change.
A Journey Still Unfolding
Roosh Sindhu’s path, from a four-year-old on a children’s stage to Miss India International 2025, is a story of returning to a dream, working hard for it and growing stronger through difficulty. The most revealing moment may not be receiving the crown. It may be the earlier decision to try again.
The crown marks a milestone, but her story is far from over. In the end, a crown may introduce a woman to the world, but her values, choices and journey show who she truly is.
